Before downloading anything, open Analysis, then Studies, and scroll. Add it to a clean chart, not your trading workspace. Check that it calculates without lag on a full session of data. Read what it actually measures, a study you cannot explain is a study you cannot trust in a drawdown. Then decide whether it earns a permanent place. Most free downloads fail the five minutes, the good ones become part of the furniture, and both outcomes cost you nothing.

How do I install a downloaded study?

The study file goes into the Data folder of your installation, then restart Sierra Chart and add it from Analysis, then Studies. The full routine, symbols and troubleshooting included, is in our chartbook installation guide. If a chart reports a missing study, the file is not in that installation's Data folder.

What should a beginner add first?
