🎯 WHAT IS IT?
The Delta Tail Rejection is an advanced Order Flow study that looks inside the candlestick to identify who is really in control. It highlights specific moments where the market tested a price, but the aggressive participant failed.
Simply put: It detects when sellers failed at the bottom and buyers took control at all price levels of the bar (or vice versa for shorts). The last price interaction with the seller was rejected, and the opposing side took over.
Works on any timeframe. Requires tick-data/Volume-at-Price data to function (Intraday charts).
🔍 HOW IT WORKS
The indicator performs a structural scan on every tick level of a closed bar to confirm control:

🟢 LONG SIGNAL (Sellers Failed)
- Price Action: Bullish Bar (Close > Open).
- The Tail: The bottom 1 or 2 ticks show the last price with the seller was rejected.
- The Body: Buyers took control at all other price levels of the bar.
- Result: Signal Arrow or "Delta Tail" text below the low (Buyers in total control).
🔴 SHORT SIGNAL (Buyers Failed)
- Price Action: Bearish Bar (Close < Open).
- The Tail: The top 1 or 2 ticks show the last price with the buyer was rejected.
- The Body: Sellers took control at all other price levels of the bar.
- Result: Signal Arrow or "Delta Tail" text above the high (Sellers in total control).

📋 BEST PRACTICES
- Tail Depth: In thick markets like ES/Treasuries, set "Max Tail Levels" to 1 for extreme precision. In thin/volatile markets like NQ, set it to 2 or 3 .
- Combine with other order-flow indicators: for higher probability setups combine with Exhaustion Indicator, Bullish/Bearish POC, Delta Divergence, Delta Slingshots, Order Flow Ratio, Volume Sequencing.
Important: Make sure you have updated to the latest version of Sierra Chart
After purchasing one of our indicators, please contact us and provide your Sierra Chart username so we can activate the indicator. Once it has been activated, restart your Sierra Chart platform.
Next, open Sierra Chart and the chart where you want to add the indicator:
1. Go to Analysis in the top menu bar.
2. Click on Studies.
3. In the "Studies" window, click Add Custom Study....
4. Find your new indicator in the list , select it, and click Add.
